Students in Fifth through Eighth Grade have the opportunity to represent the St. Anne’s School Stars by participating in interscholastic athletics, including cross-country, field hockey, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and tennis.
Our athletic program offers more than just physical activity—it provides a vital extension of our whole-child approach to education. Through sports, students develop strength, coordination, and athletic skills, while also building self-confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of fitness and healthy competition.
Inclusive, Developmentally Appropriate Competition
The Stars athletics program is inclusive—there are no cuts. Every student who wants to participate is welcomed. For some sports, tryouts are held to determine placement on A or B teams, based on a combination of grade level and individual skill, in alignment with Independent School Athletic Association (ISAA) guidelines. This approach promotes fair, age-appropriate competition and maximizes each athlete’s growth and experience.
Character On and
Off the Field
Athletics at St. Anne’s School is about more than wins and losses. It’s about showing up with commitment, playing with integrity, and treating teammates, coaches, and opponents with respect. Students learn what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves—and to find pride and purpose in both effort and teamwork.
We encourage parents to talk with their children about the commitment that comes with joining a team. Athletes are expected to attend practices, participate fully, and honor the responsibilities of being a teammate.
